Research Interests
Kate has an Honours degree in Human Geography from the University of Sydney. Her honours thesis looked at backpackers in Sydney and constructions of place. Kate is currently enrolled in a Masters of Science where she is looking at aid cultures in Cambodia, with particular reference to Chinese aid and Cambodia.
As AMRC Research Assistant, Kate is primarily working on the AusAID funded Cambodia Water Project which is a water resource management research capacity development program based in Cambodia. This project is being led by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) in Phnom Penh. In addition to this work, Kate also acts as the administrative coordinator for the Southeast Asia, Australasia and South West Pacific (SEAASWP) IGU network. She is also coordinator of the Southeast Asian Seminar series which is co-jointly run by AMRC and the Chair of Southeast Asian Studies in the Faculty of Arts.
