Research

PhD title: Risk-based forecasts of sea level rise impacts at the Brazilian coast.

My research interests focus on modeling climate change impacts on coastal environments in time frames of decades to centuries. The objective is to evaluate how the local and regional variability in dune and shoreface morphology respond to sea level rise and disturbance to littoral sediment budgets in terms of coastal-recession risk. Comparisons along the southern Brazil coastal response are being addressed through the use of stochastic simulations that isolate morphological, sediment-budget and sea-level effects as separate treatments.
