Geosciences Map Collection

The Map Collection is located in the South East corner of Level 4 of the Madsen Building (Room 438). The collection contains approximately 80,000 maps including the complete Australian topographic series. Maps published by government departments, conservation and planning organisations and most other map-producing agencies throughout Australia are also held.

The collection offers world coverage with 45 complete topographic series. Maps of historic interest as well as geological, regional, thematic and specialist maps, and ocean charts are also part of the collection. Atlases are held in the Scitech Library. The Map Collection is for reference only and is kindly staffed by volunteers. It is open to the public on Tuesdays from 9.15am - 2pm.
